A North Carolina Superior Court judge in Forsyth County, NC, ruled on August 8th, 2025, to vacate the convictions of the Winston Salem 5 for the 2002 murder of Nathaniel Jones and dismiss all charges with prejudice after finding credibility to their claims of innocence. But brothers Rayshawn Banner and Nathaniel Cauthen remain behind bars.
