  1. What It's REALLY Like Dating As A Tall Woman | Are The Tall Girlies Desperate? (00:25:38)

Dating as a girly is such a beautiful experience. Well…it should be a beautiful experience. Because dating as a woman in 2025 can honestly be a hot mess. So adding height to the mix (like being a tall girly) can definitely make it an even hotter mess. And some of the experiences I’ve heard and/or read literally validate that last point. I’ve heard many things from their dates lying about their height on dating apps to their dates telling them not to wear heels to the oversexualizing comments to being rejected solely based on height, and the list just goes on and on and on.So today, we’re gonna dive a bit deeper into the reality of dating as a tall woman and how other tall girlies are turning something that seems difficult and annoying into a more positive and fun experience. 2. Do Short Girls Secretly Have Beef With Tall Girls? (00:20:39)

There are many types of people who have some tension with tall women. For some reason, that sounds very odd to say, but it’ll make more sense the deeper I get into this episode. We have the old people who have no problem being shady towards the tall girlies. And if you’re a tall girl listening to this right now, I’m sure an old lady on the street has told you that you’re never gonna find a husband “with that height”. Happens to the best of us :/// Then we have the opposite side with little kids who have no filter and will say the rudest things to your face and/or look at you like you’re a monster. Then we have the short men with fragile egos. No need to explain that one further. But what about the short girlies? Some of you guys have said that there’s something going on between the tall girlies and short girlies. Maybe some beef?? Well, in today’s episode, we are gonna unpack that, so make sure you tune in! Buy Me A Coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/atallgirlspodcast Subscribe to A Tall Girl's Newsletter: https://atallgirlspodcast.beehiiv.com/subscribeLet's stay connected: https://beacons.ai/atallgirlspodcast Leave a review and let me know how tall you are: https://atallgirlspodcast.com/reviews

  3. The Obsession With Tall Girls Is Out of Control | Why Is Everyone So Fixated on Height? (00:17:34)

We’re gonna set the scene for the tall girls.By the way, this may or may not actually be a true story. You’re a tall girly in the grocery store, shopping because we all have to eat. A lady approaches you and asks you to reach a can of whatever off a high shelf. Well, a high shelf for her because she’s pretty short. Now, of course, it’s your literal duty as a tall citizen to reach things from high areas for people, so you do it. You hand the can of whatever, and she says thank you. You go back to browsing. But she keeps talking…and that’s where it all goes downhill. She goes, “You know, you’re pretty large for such a pretty girl.” Oh????? Anyways, you laugh it off. She continues, saying, “I’ve been eyeing you from afar because I didn’t know how big you were, but as I got closer, you’re bigger than I expected.” Oh, so we’re stalking people now?? Now you’re weirded out, and so you just say “oh…awesome”, and try to walk away. AND THEN she says, “You know, my son likes really tall girls. You’d be the perfect height for him”. And that’s when you speed away because who says something like that if they’re not gonna kidnap you. I’ve watched too many horror movies and Dateline episodes to try to figure out what happens next. Anyways, this story isn’t the first time that a tall girl (who happened to be me lol) would receive weird comments or have a conversation solely based on her height. And in today’s episode, we’re getting to the bottom of why some people are so fixated or even obsessed with a tall woman’s height. 4. Are Tall Women Not Feminine Enough? | Why Some Tall Women Don’t Feel Feminine (00:18:43)

If you’re a tall girly, I’m sure you’ve heard the idea that tall women are perceived as masculine. I mean, there’s nothing new here. We know height equals masculinity in society’s eyes or whatever, leading many people, whether people we know or complete strangers, to kind of act out on this idea by treating us aggressively and even misgendering us. We all know the gist here. But there’s a bit of a flip side to this, where some tall girls kind of believe this notion. Basically, there are tall women who don’t feel feminine or even have a hard time embracing their femininity. And a Reddit post on this led me down this huge rabbit hole about how and why some tall women feel this way. If you’re a tall girly who resonates with this, #1 you are not alone, and #2 I highly recommend tuning in to this episode because we’re gonna get into the nitty-gritty of this topic. 5. The Short Girls Are LYING To The Tall Girls | Why Can’t We All Just Agree on What’s Considered Tall for A Woman? (00:25:59)

Every single tall girl tuning in right now knows the struggle of finding clothes that fit properly. We have the clothes that, quite frankly, aren’t long enough. The clothes that are long enough, but the proportions are horrendous (like the only reason the pair of pants is long enough is because the crotch area is down to our knees lol). We also have the brands lying about their clothing being “tall friendly”. Whichever struggle you face the most, it’s easy to feel like the options are very limited. So we may take our search online, hopefully to find other tall girls reviewing clothes that fit them. Maybe you stumble across a video of a girly reviewing a pair of jeans. Those jeans fit her well, and they even drag on the floor a little. She claims it’s “tall girl friendly”. Now you’re excited, ready to figure out the brand of the jeans, and the girl in the video says, “Oh, by the way, I’m 5’6”” :///// She really had us there for a sec. Anyways, today, we’re discussing how some of the short girlies are lying about how some of the clothing items they’re trying on are “tall girl friendly” and why that’s the case. 6. These Men Have a Problem with Tall Women?? | The Height Standards Are Getting Out Of Hand Y'all... (00:20:59)

It’s no secret that there are people in a tall woman’s life who can make her insecure, and this can be either growing up, in their adult life, or both stages. And I think I did a few episodes regarding each group or some of these groups of people. We have our peers, especially growing up, whether it’s our classmates, teammates, or “friends” calling us those weird, annoying names and asking dumb questions like “How’s the weather up there?” We also have the adults like teachers, coaches, or even strangers making assumptions about us or staring at us because of our height. Then, we have family members, the ones who are supposed to always have our backs but pick us apart and make horrible self-comparisons. And then we have men. And not just any random dude. According to a tall girly on TikTok, this is a specific category of men. And before you come for me, I’m NOT HATING ON MEN. I understand that this is not representative of all of them (even the ones in the category). I’m simply providing commentary. Anyways, definitely tune in to this episode for more on this topic!Buy Me A Coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/atallgirlspodcast Subscribe to A Tall Girl's Newsletter: https://atallgirlspodcast.beehiiv.com/subscribeLet's stay connected: https://beacons.ai/atallgirlspodcast Leave a review and let me know how tall you are: https://atallgirlspodcast.com/reviews

  7. Do Tall Women Need To Be Humbled? | Why People Behave Aggressively Toward Tall Women (00:18:18)

Do any other tall girls remember almost always being paired up or grouped with the boys during gym class?  Let me get into this story. So I was in the 9th or 10th grade, I think? We have different units where we do a different activity for a few weeks, then move on to the next activity for a few weeks, and so forth and so on. So at one point in time, it was the basketball unit. I’m sure you know where I’m going with this… There were 3 levels: level 1, level 2, and level 3. Level 1 being for the beginners and level 3 being for advanced players. Now, the gym teacher did know that I played (past tense played) basketball about 2 or 3 years prior. Mind you, there were other girls on the basketball team in that gym class, but I was the only girl placed in the level 3 group…with all of the boys :///Whatever, we were playing, and I’m on defense. This dude…I guess he was turning around, and he literally elbowed me in my face. And proceeds to keep playing like nothing happened. So naturally, I yelped and literally stood on the sideline, deleted. I heard the teacher screaming, “Why were you so aggressive? You wouldn’t do that to a girl, would you?” And the guy was like “no”. And the teacher was like, “Why would you do that? She’s a girl!” And the guy was like, “Oh, I forgot. She’ll be fine.” YOU FORGOT? I’LL BE FINE?? Anyways…. Albeit this was a small and hopefully unintentional thing, this is just one example of rough, aggressive behaviors that some people have toward tall women, and we’re gonna dive deeper into that today, so tune into the episode for more!

  8. Literally NEVER Do This to A Tall Girl | Why Tall Girls STILL Struggle with Insecurities (00:18:36)

At some point in their lives, whether for a short period of time or for years and years and years, many (if not all) tall girls have felt insecure about their height. It’s natural. It’s inevitable. Everyone gets insecure at times. And if we lived through similar tall girl experiences, the insecurities are DEFINITELY real. However, there are people who don’t believe they’re real?? Or let me rephrase it, there are people who believe these insecurities shouldn’t be real. Like they shouldn’t exist at all. Listen, there are a lot of things that rub me the wrong way as a tall girl and invalidating comments are definitely up there. “I wish I had your height.” “I wouldn’t be insecure if I were you.” “You have no reason to feel bad about your height.” Like listen, I get it but also not really. Anyways today, we’re talking about the invalidation of tall women’s insecurities, the pressures that come with being a tall woman, and how some tall girls don’t like other tall girls?? 9. Why Is The Shoe Industry IGNORING Tall Women? | Literally No One Talks About This… (00:20:29)

I wanna provide a little context for the tall girlies before getting into this episode. I went shoe shopping with a friend a few weeks ago because, you know, a girly had a couple of outings coming up, so I wanted to get some new shoes. Little did I know that that would be a little difficult, but we’ll get into that in a second. We went to Nordstrom Rack and walked past rows and rows of women’s shoes. We passed by the size 5 section, size 6 section, size 7 section, just rows and rows of varieties of shoes like sneakers, heels, sandals, flats, you name it. I’m excited like omg I can’t wait to find these in my size. Eventually, I get to the size 9.5 section (that’s my size) and why was it like only half a row???? Literally ONE HALF of a row. I’m like okay?? I turn around a corner within the store and see another half a row of size 9.5 shoes. I’m like oh…this is it?? I turn around and I see a wall with size 10 shoes (really just sneakers and boots). And the same with size 11 shoes. I don’t even know if that location had anything past a size 11, and if they did, it was not very visible. Many tall women I’ve interviewed on this podcast have a shoe size of 11, 12, or even 13. So, if I’m struggling to find variety in a size 9.5…are the other tall girlies ok?? Today, we’re gonna be talking about the shoe struggle many tall women face and why this isn’t spoken about enough. 10. Tall Girls DON’T WANT D1 Babies | Why Tall Women Don't Want Tall Daughters (00:22:07)

Alright tall girlies, picture this. Hypothetically, you’re single and into men. Oof, we’re already off to a rather interesting start lol. You’re on this date with a guy, and he’s tall too. Maybe he’s around you’re height; maybe he’s a lot taller than you. Let your imagination run wild lol. This is a first date, by the way. It’s going great; you’re getting to know each other, cracking jokes, getting flirtatious or whatever, y’all are talking, and he just whips out “You and me, we could totally have D1 babies”.And oh yeah, he never asked you if you wanted kids!!! XDDDDD You probably cringed like oh…haha…yeahhhh. Or maybe you’re into that. Who knows? Okay, I know this is a weird hypothetical situation, but you never know. This may have happened to someone. Did this happen to you? Anyways, I was just trying to warm you up to this episode topic, where we’re talking about the comment some tall women get about making D1 babies and how some tall women may not even want tall daughters. 11. Do Tall Girls ACTUALLY Hate Being Tall? | How Our Responses To Comments Reveal Our Thoughts About Our Height (00:20:49)

Every single tall person known to existence has had a complicated relationship with their height. And speaking from my experience as a tall girly, I know I’ve had quite the tricky relationship with mine. There were times when I loved being tall. It was the greatest thing ever; it made me feel powerful and unique and beautiful even. And there were times when I was like why did my tall dad and above-average height mom have to make me tall again? From the self comparisons to my awkward tall teen phase to even the adults closest to me making me feel insecure about my height, it was a lot to deal with. Can any other tall girls relate? It’s almost like do the cons outweigh the pros? When it comes to being a tall girl, is there more bad than good? Honestly, it gets to a point where you have to ask, do tall girls hate being tall? Okay, that was a bit extreme, but we’re gonna answer this question and more in the episode, so make sure you tune in!

  12. The HARSH Reality of Being a 6’4” Woman ft. Alie Alexis | How Height Impacts Confidence, Fashion, and More (00:26:44)

The experiences that tall women go through are honestly…pretty wild. If you’re a tall girly, you understand 110%. Yes, there are the fashion struggles like jeans hitting mid-calf, long sleeves not reaching your wrists, and not even finding clothes that fit your length. There are also the comments like “oh my gosh, you’re so big” or “are you sure you’re a woman?” and we can’t forget about the aggressive behavior. Like people will literally roll up on you and try to fight you. And it seems like the taller you are, the wilder these experiences are. And today’s guest knows exactly what I’m talking about. Today, I’m joined by 6’4” fashionista Alie (also known as six four unicorn period), who has been using her voice, height, and style to create an accepting and welcoming space for tall women online. We’re gonna be talking about tall girl experiences, her fashion struggles as a 6’4” woman, and some intel on the first-ever tall girl brand trip with TJL Collection. 13. The Fashion Industry Still Fails Tall Women (and No One Talks About THIS ONE PROBLEM) ft. Sumissura (00:16:54)

If you’re a tall girl reading this right now, I’m sure you’ve struggled with clothing at some point in your life. Heck, you’re probably even struggling with clothing right now at this moment. Were you just online shopping? And trying to filter through them 32-inch inseam jeans? It’s okay; you don’t have to lie lol. It happens to the best of us. But yeah, clothing is probably the biggest tall girl problem….ever. There’s no doubt about it. The pants, the skirts, the shoes, but there’s one article of clothing that isn’t spoken about enough, and that is: dresses.  Okay, we do speak about it, BUT it’s not spoken about as much as pants. Don’t come for me. I know we can at least agree on that. So today, we’re going to be talking about why brands are falling short (literally lol) when it comes to dresses for the tall girlies and an amazing solution to this problem. 14. Do Any Other Tall Women Get Misgendered? | “You’re Too Big to Be a Woman” (00:18:56)

***Just a disclaimer: there are a few mentions of people being transphobic and using transphobic comments. Nothing too intense, just explaining a point while these terms are used. It’s no secret that some people view height as masculinity. Meaning tall women have often been seen as or called masculine. I’m sure we all know that lowkey. It happens to the best of us. And I’ve talked about it quite often on the pod. But what if some people take this a step further? What if they believe that you are or call you a man or transgender? Yes, there are tall women out there who were assigned female at birth who still choose to identify as a woman, and people still straight up ask them if they’re a man or trans, and why are we asking strangers about their sexuality/identity?????But people don’t even have to do all of that? It can be something as simple as the side-eye in a woman’s public restroom or calling you ‘sir’. So, in today’s episode, we’re discussing why people often misgender tall women and determining if people are actually doing this on purpose. 15. Your Toxic Friends Are the Reason You Hate Being Tall | How Jealousy Causes Body Dysmorphia (00:17:16)

Every tall girl knows the feeling of being the odd one out. In fact, I’m sure you were the one tall girl among your friends, classmates, teammates, or peers. You’d be a head taller than them to the point where other people would assume that you’re the random older sibling babysitting them. Or maybe that was just me and my situation lol. Your friends were able to share clothes with each other, but you can’t because your friends’ clothes won’t fit you. People may treat you differently from them. Sometimes, your friends may make fun of you for being the tallest one in the group, making you feel even more insecure about your height. What if I told you that some of your friends may be doing that last part on purpose? Yeah…some of your “friends” may not be your for real for real friends. Geesh, that got kinda dark lol…But I mean it IS real life. Anyways, so today we’re gonna be talking about how our shorter friends may have made us insecure about our height, whether they meant to or not. 16. THIS Is Why People Are So Mean to Tall Women?? | The Stereotype That Ruins It For Us (00:17:18)

I’m sure you know about many of the tall girl stereotypes: masculine, intimidating, athlete, Amazon, etc. But there’s one that is rarely spoken about, or at least I rarely speak about, and that is strong. Yes, physically, mentally, and emotionally strong. Were there any times when someone asked you to help carry something heavy and they said, “Oh, you’re big and strong”? Or when you’re facing struggles, someone may say, “Oh, you can handle it, right?” Those are just a few examples of this “strong” stereotype. Today, we’re going to dive deeper into this and how it affects how people speak to and act towards us, so make sure you tune in to this episode!

  17. Why Do Adults Feel SO ENTITLED to Comment on Tall Girls’ Bodies? | Why We Grow Up Insecure (00:17:55)

I have a question for you: When you were younger, do you remember adults making comments about your height? It can be anything from “oh, you’re so big now!” to “you shouldn’t have given up that sport” to “you’re gonna scare the boys away with that height”. Sometimes, they may be light-hearted in their eyes, while other times, it’s passive-aggressive. For many tall girls, especially at ages 10, 11, or even 12, the first people to make us feel insecure about our bodies and height are, in fact, the adults in our lives, especially the ones closest to us. So today, we’re gonna talk about how some of our insecurities came from the adults in our early lives and why those things stick with us into adulthood. 18. This Tall Girl Problem Is Now The Hottest Fashion Trend?? | This Is Every Tall Girl's Nightmare… (00:18:48)

PREVIOUS EPISODE: https://youtu.be/ilNWNKMlTcI?si=0VCDvNdZ_1NDCCZ8I wanna set the scene for y’all…I’m at the gym, on the treadmill, following my own advice and moving my body so I don’t feel the pains of being a tall girl. And so, there’s a glass window in front of the treadmills so when you look through it, you can see outside. And there’s a store across the street from my gym, so when I look out of this glass window, I can see the store. Now in the store window, I see a bunch of mannequins and one of the mannequins in particular (I don’t think you’re ready for this lol), was wearing one of the worst sights of my life. That mannequin was wearing CAPRIS. Not like jean capris, more like legging capris – I’m sure you understand what I’m saying. But I have no words, honestly. And if you’re a tall girly reading this, I’m sure you can understand the amount of disgust I felt. In today’s episode, we’re gonna discuss why this new fashion trend is an absolute atrocity and why fashion trends these days don’t really work for tall girls. 19. Why Can't Tall Girls Find Jeans?? | The Tall Girl Shopping Problems Are Getting Worse… (00:19:34)

This is probably one of the biggest struggles tall women face: finding jeans. And not just any pair of jeans, but jeans that are flattering AND long enough. If you just had flashbacks or cringed or agreed or had any type of reaction to what I just said, I’m sure you understand the struggle. It’s not uncommon for a tall woman to walk into a store, bright and eager to buy a pair of jeans, pick a few of them off the rack, try them on, and they fit like capris. Oh dear, I’m having some bad memories right now. And online, it’s even worse because you can’t try them on. 20. The Dating Double Standard: Are Tall Women Undesirable In The Dating World? (00:23:44)

Dating as a tall woman…That is a…beautiful thing. Ok, growing up, it was lowkey awkward…well, for me at least. I’ve had a total of 3 crushes in my lifetime. Two of which were from middle school. And I was taller than both of them, of course. Ok, not like a million inches taller, but tall enough where you can notice the height difference. And it was very awkward, already while middle school being an awkward time in anyone’s life. But throughout the middle school years, I’d see them with their girlfriends who were always shorter than them. And I was like oh…so y’all don’t like me cuz I’m taller than you?? Welp, we’ll never know because I never asked. However, this became a pattern even as I got older – the whole girlfriends being shorter than their boyfriends. It kinda makes you ask, do guys prefer women who are shorter? Are tall women undesirable in the dating world? We’re gonna answer these questions and more in this episode, so tune in!Buy Me A Coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/atallgirlspodcast Subscribe to A Tall Girl's Newsletter: https://atallgirlspodcast.beehiiv.com/subscribeLet's stay connected: https://beacons.ai/atallgirlspodcast Leave a review and let me know how tall you are: https://atallgirlspodcast.com/reviews

  21. Being Tall Is A Disease? | The Scary Health Risks of Being Tall (00:19:29)

Y’all, also make sure you subscribe to my newsletter because SO MUCH has happened this week! Between concerts and colonoscopies, it’s been wild lol. Subscribe here to hear more about it: https://atallgirlspodcast.beehiiv.com/ There is a strong connection between your height and your health. And yes, we commonly know the aches and pains and posture problems that come with being tall, but we’re gonna go deeper than that. Like I’m talking about chronic diseases, like bone disease, peripheral neuropathy, and certain cancers. Oof, that sounds scary. And lowkey it is, but we’ll get into that a little bit later. While we’re on the topic of diseases, apparently, being tall happens to be viewed as a disease, specifically for girls. Yeah, we’re going to get real deep into the health risks of being tall and what this whole “being tall was a disease” thing means, so let’s get into it! This episode was actually a request from one of you guys! One of you asked if I could do an episode on tall woman diseases, and if I could have a doctor on this episode. So yes, we are talking about diseases tall people are more susceptible to, BUT we don’t have a doctor on this episode lol. However, I will be incorporating TikTok videos of health professionals speaking on this matter. And this is a good time to provide a disclaimer. This is NOT meant to give medical advice. I am NOT a medical professional. I’m just a tall girl with a microphone who has done some research and is sharing it on the Internet lol. But before we get into diseases and so forth, let’s talk about something interesting I found. Apparently, being tall was viewed as a disease??? Back in the day, doctors would give young girls hormones to prevent them from growing to adult height. What’s the deal with that? Tune in to the full episode for more! Here is the article regarding this: https://www.latimes.com/opinion/la-oe-cosgrove5-2009apr05-story.html | https://hormonesmatter.com/des-used-stunt-growth-tall-girls/ Buy Me A Coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/atallgirlspodcast Subscribe to A Tall Girl's Newsletter: https://atallgirlspodcast.beehiiv.com/subscribeLet's stay connected: https://beacons.ai/atallgirlspodcast Leave a review and let me know how tall you are: https://atallgirlspodcast.com/reviews

  22. The Infantilization of Short Women Vs. The Adultification of Tall Women | Height = Sexualization (00:13:50)

Has anyone ever mistaken you for being older because of your height? I know I have, but we’ll get into that a little later. But I’m sure when you were like 11 or 12 or even a teenager, strangers or even distant family members assumed you were 1, 2, or even 5 years older than you actually were. And then when you told them your actual age, they were surprised. I mean at that age, many of us have baby faces, so it’s sometimes like: Do I really look that old???But what if I told you that regardless of whether or not people know your age, except maybe parents or close friends, people may treat you a certain way and perceive you a certain way because of your height. And yes, this goes for both tall and short girls. So without further ado, let’s get into it! Today, we are talking about how height affects how we are treated. Fun fact: We are talking a little bit about the short girlies and how they’re treated based on their height and will delve into that same topic for tall women. I know this podcast is for tall women, but I think for the purposes of this episode, it’s helpful to explain how this applies to the short girlies and compare that to the tall girlies. Tune in to the full episode where I talk about the infantilization of short women, the adultification of tall girls, and how both affect how we are treated and sexualized!

  23. Tall Girls Are Trending On Social Media...And For The Wrong Reasons | Why Social Media Is TOXIC For Tall Women (00:22:57)

So apparently… tall girls are trending on social media??? And lowkey for the wrong reasons. Let me explain. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been seeing on my TikTok feed specifically, men (keep this in mind for later), talking about tall women and saying how they’re beautiful, how they've been slept on in the dating world, and so forth. And these videos are getting tens of thousands and even hundreds of thousands of likes, views, shares, and so forth. Great. Awesome. You’re probably like, what’s wrong with that? Don’t you agree with them? Oh, of course I do. 100000%. But the thing is, tall women have been saying this for YEARS, but now it’s like, yesssssss tall women slay queen period sis purr. C’mon now.Now listen, this isn’t the only trend of tall women. We are trending right now for multiple reasons. It’s just that these men saying these things about tall women is a bit interesting to me. Once again, I don’t think that it’s a bad thing. I don’t think they have any ill intent. My thing is why is this a trending idea? Trends indicate what’s cool right now. What’s cool in the moment. Why is this cool right now when it should be cool overall, right? Tall women have always been amazing…it’s just why are so many people making this “trendy” now? And honestly, this really just shows how men kinda dictate what the societal beauty standards are and what’s considered conventionally attractive. Anyways, what are these men saying about tall women exactly? And why is social media a messy space for tall women? 24. "You're Pretty For A Tall Girl" | The HARSH TRUTH About Beauty Standards for Tall Women (00:18:09)

‘Tall girls just aren’t that pretty.’That’s how we’re made to feel or even what we’re told growing up by our crush, our peers, even family and friends, and strangers. And it’s not a one-and-done thing. In fact, it’s recurring. We hear and feel this often enough for us to wonder: Does everyone have the same viewpoint of tall women? That we’re these ‘big’, awkward skyscrapers? Why? Why is this the case? I got 3 words for ya: Societal beauty standards. This is explained in a piece written in the Minnesota Daily by Sidney Clarke, who says, “height has been inextricably associated with a lack of conventional beauty.” Why is this the case? And how can we overcome this?Well, that’s what today’s episode is all about! Tune in for more!Minnesota Daily article: https://mndaily.com/221247/opinion/op-height/Buy Me A Coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/atallgirlspodcast Subscribe to A Tall Girl's Newsletter: https://atallgirlspodcast.beehiiv.com/subscribeLet's stay connected: https://beacons.ai/atallgirlspodcast Leave a review and let me know how tall you are: https://atallgirlspodcast.com/reviews

  25. What It's REALLY Like Being A Tall Girl | Why It's Such An Isolating Experience (00:22:18)

Truthfully, being tall can be an isolating experience. I mean, it’s very rare to have a moment where you can just feel like everyone else. Whenever you walk into a room, you’re immediately noticed and get stares. People feel the need to make comments about your height. You see that cute fit your friends are wearing? Yeah, you can’t wear that because it’s not long enough. Experiences like these add up over time, causing us to feel like the odd one out constantly. Like the world treats you differently because of something you can’t control. After a while, you start to wonder if there's a place for you or just anyone who can understand or relate or literally treat you like a normal human being. Today, I will be breaking down why many of us tall women feel this silent loneliness and why we shouldn’t downplay this or pretend it doesn’t affect us. Ok, was this a bit dramatic?? Maybe. But also not really. Because high school me/middle school me felt this way. Felt really isolated, felt like the odd one out. And I wanna say super early on that this episode is to not complain about being tall or hating on it. Because I know people will say “oh you’re so lucky to be tall”  and bla bla bla like I get it. For real. Being tall is a blessing but it also has its trying moments. People will call you the weirdest names. And say the most heinous things about your body and height. Strangers will stare and point at you in public. Even your friends will say/do some shady things. All of this is on top of the fact that you're hyper-aware of your height in public and are constantly comparing your height to your shorter peers. When living in a world where many people are shorter than you, it can be hard. Truthfully. If you can relate, I highly recommend checking this episode out!
