It is living as God lives...intimately inside every thing. - Hayuna Manipura is associated with fire and the power of transformation. Solar plexus or manipura is the third primary chakra according to Vedic tradition. Manipura translates from Sanskrit as "city of jewels" alternatively translated as "resplendent gem" or "lustrous gem". Manipura is often associated with the color yellow. This chakra is where your power and self-confidence manifests. “Manipura” means a lustrous gem. The jewel or qualities associated with this chakra strengthen the digestive system and diaphragm. The Solar Plexus focuses on the power and autonomy of metabolism. The element for the Solar Plexus is fire. Joining our #Chakrachat : Solar Plexus on Embodiment is Teacher Marisa Harnadh.     Joining our #Chakrachat on Grounding is Teacher Ayman Khatib from Lebanon. Ayman is an international Yoga teacher, Thai Yoga massage teacher and practitioner. Yoga has been a part of his life since 2003. In 2012, he started a journey in Asia that showed him the true purpose of life and resulted in ending his corporate career and becoming a Yoga teacher. He has travelled, learnt and taught in many yoga centres and ashrams around the world. The experience made him realise his own dharma to share his findings of the traditional and authentic yogic science and philosophy. Ayman is known for his calmness in conducting warm and inviting classes and workshops that are best described as physically, mentally and spiritually uplifting.

Currently she leads the NGO named IAHV - The International Association for Human Values (IAHV) offers programs to reduce stress and develop leaders so that human values can flourish in communities. We were established in 1997, and in the Philippines in 2008.

Denise utilizes the power of the gong, a sacred instrument for sound healing and relaxation, as well as the Tibetan Singing Bowls and Crystal Bowls whose frequencies balance the body’s energies. She has also practiced and studied various methods of meditation, and other spiritual modalities. When it comes to being a lifestyle writer, PR and events specialist, a tarot and oracle card reader, she remains equally zealous in all. This also includes managing her family insurance business, RAROCO Insurance Brokers, full-time as president, not to mention gardening and soap-making. Regardless of her many pursuits, Denise lives with her head in the clouds, but with her feet on the ground.

    October is Mental Health Awareness Month— a global campaign to promote mental health awareness. #Chakrachat started with an aim to create a virtual space and platform for deeper conversations on a certain topics pertaining to managing the pandemic. Teacher Rachel Bonifacio ( @rachbonifacio ) has a charming and bubbly personality known to everyone. She is an entrepreneur with 18 years of experience working in the corporate landscape, primarily in the human resources and training. She's taken up her Masters in Psychology from Southville International School and Colleges and her undergrad degree in Business Management from the College of Holy Spirit. Her continuing education courses come from Ateneo de Manila University, University of Pennsylvania, and Princeton University, and is an alumna of FLOW Coaching Institute in Toronto. Apart from corporate training, Rachel administers psychological counseling and life coaching for Lighthouse Wellness and Life Coaching Services and is a certified yoga and meditation teacher for Treehouse Yoga Philippines, both of which she owns.

    Climate change : Our country Philippines is a highly vulnerable to the impacts of Climate change including sea level rise, increased frequency of weather events, rising temperature & heavy rainfall. We are one of the world's most cyclone prone region which has an average of 19 to 20 per year of which is 7 to 9 landfall. According to PAG-ASA since the mid 20th century is due to human activities. Dave Albao ( @dave.albao , @danjuganisland ) is the Executive Director of the Philippine Reef and Rainforest Conservation Foundation Inc. (PRRCFI), the nonprofit behind Danjugan Island, a wildlife sanctuary with environmental education and sustainable tourism programs. He was once its island manager, as a 'Keeper of the Wild' funded by the World Land Trust; finding himself at home with “rewilding”, passionate about freediving, indigenous spirituality, and our interconnectedness with nature. In the last four years, Dave and his team has expanded the Foundation’s portfolio in supporting a network of marine protected areas, as well as implementing USAID-funded projects reducing ocean plastic, such as the "Wala Usik" campaign towards local circular economy with social enterprises (by redesigning sari-sari stores). He was a 2016 Professional Fellow on Environmental Sustainability in Oregon, USA, and is currently in the 2020 cohort of Swedish Institute Management Programme on Sustainable Business. Tune in!     The landscape of teaching and learning has immensely changed as a result of this pandemic and it is no different with Yoga. It would be interesting therefore to create a space for conversations for yoga teachers and practitioners to talk about their reactions, responses and reinventions Gracing our #ChakraChat session are two inspiring and thriving yoga teachers of the country, Teacher Ben and Teacher Rianna. Ben Bernabe is a Vinyasa yoga teacher and teacher trainer based in Manila, Philippines. ( @yogawithben) He started his yoga practice in 2010 with Yoga for Life, a community-based organization that offers yoga as complementary therapy for people living with and affected by HIV. He took his teacher training in 2012 at the Victorian Institute of Yoga Education and Teacher Training (VIYETT) in Hampton, a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He obtained his 500H Diploma in Yoga Teaching (DYT) on December 15, 2012. He has been teaching Vinyasa and Power Yoga at Beyond Yoga since coming home to Manila in 2013. He led his first Vinyasa yoga teacher training with Rianna Gatus in July 2017 at Beyond Rockwell, Makati City, Philippines. Ben is also the President of The Red Whistle, an HIV awareness organization in the Philippines. He was also formerly the President of Yoga for Life and the Executive Director of the B-Change Foundation, an Asia-Pacific regional NGO. He has a Master of Development Studies degree from The University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Arts in European Languages degree from the University of the Philippines Diliman. On the other hand, Rianna Gatus ( @riannayoga ) has been teaching yoga for more than ten years. She teaches smart, dynamic, and intuitive yoga classes. Rianna found the mat through tough times of personal grief. As one of the founders of Beyond Yoga studios in Manila, she opened the space with the desire to share yoga to people around her. She is trained in Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Hot Yoga, with more than 1,000 hours of training and continuing education under her belt. Her goal as a teacher trainer is to train people with emphasis on skillful and precise sequencing, hands on assists that are connected and confident, and the ability to create an experience that brings people back to themselves. ​Her vision is a world with more yoga because everybody deserves it.
