- A Fatal Romance- How Betty Lou Became America's Notorious Black Widow (01:03:47)Betty, a high school dropout who left school in the 10th grade, spent the majority of her life employed as a cashier and waitress. Throughout her life, she entered into five marriages. She had killed her husband, a firefighter, in order to obtain his life insurance benefits amounting to $100,000 and his pension. His remains were found in a wishing well on their property, which was adorned with a flower garden. Additionally, police uncovered the skeletal remains of her fourth husband, Doyle Wayne Baker, buried beneath a storage shed on the premises. Baker had also been shot, and his disappearance had remained a mystery until the investigation into her fifth husband led to the search of her property. She became known as the "Killer Granny."Copyright © 2024-Present Criminalist Behavior Podcast. - Justice for the Fallen:The Case of the Cox Technician Slaying (01:12:18)This incident is a tragic occurrence involving a cable installer who was shot multiple times during what seems to be an attempted robbery. The behavior of the assailant indicates a possible lack of experience or sound judgment, suggesting that the crime may have been driven by panic or executed poorly. The shooting took place shortly after the victim commenced his work at approximately 12:30 pm, with law enforcement being alerted just before at 12:19 pm. This timing underscores that the event transpired in a public setting, likely in the presence of witnesses. It is possible that the nearby work truck was the intended target for theft, and the perpetrator may have misled the victim into a false sense of security prior to the outbreak of violence. Despite the severity of the situation, there are still numerous investigative paths that could provide clarity on the case.Copyright © 2024-Present Criminalist Behavior Podcast. - Aiming High- The Legacy of the Howard Johnson's Sniper-Episode 48 (01:00:08)Mark James Robert Essex (August 12, 1949 – January 7, 1973) was an American serial sniper and black nationalist known as the "New Orleans Sniper" who killed a total of nine people, including five police officers, and wounded twelve others, in two separate attacks in New Orleans on December 31, 1972, and January 7, 1973. Essex was killed by police in the second armed confrontation.Essex is believed to have specifically sought to kill white people and police officers due to racism he had previously experienced while enlisted in the Navy. His increasingly extremist anti-police, black supremacist, and anti-white views are believed to have solidified following a November 1972 violent clash between Baton Rouge sheriff's deputies and student civil rights demonstrators, during which two young black demonstrators were shot and killed.Copyright © 2024-Present Criminalist Behavior Podcast. - Exonerating the Underdog The Journey With Patrick Brown-Episode 47 (01:06:49)Patrick Brown, a 49-year-old man from Louisiana, walked free after spending nearly 30 years in prison for a rape that the victim herself has consistently maintained he did not commit. According to Orleans Parish prosecutors, Brown was convicted of aggravated rape in 1994, accused of assaulting his 6-year-old stepdaughter. The case of Patrick Brown, falsely accused of rape in Louisiana, requires a thorough investigation through a deductive approach. The legal context in Louisiana regarding consent and societal perceptions was also considered. Ultimately, uncovering the truth relies on a comprehensive examination of all. - Tragedy Strikes: The Untold Story of Bruce Cucchiara's Death-Episode 35 (00:52:01)The morning of April 24, 2012, Bruce Cucchiara started as a typical day. Bruce received an incoming call regarding an investment property in Lafayette, Louisiana. The address he was given was incorrect. Bruce went to speak to the apartment building manager in an attempt to get some clarity on the address he was provided. Bruce was walking back to his truck when was shot by a revolver. Was it a former Louisiana official or was it the ties that were connected with his business partner with the New York mafia? Copyright © 2024-Present Criminalist Behavior Podcast.
