Garcia, who was reportedly enraged by their breakup and her upcoming marriage to another man, shot Gladys three times in front of her family and friends. He was immediately apprehended at the scene and later convicted of first-degree murder. This horrifying act of violence shocked the community and highlighted the dangers of domestic violence, even after a relationship has ended. Gladys' story has since been remembered as a tragic reminder of love turned deadly. After three chilling seasons, Deadly Ever After has taken listeners deep into the shadows where true crime and weddings collide. From proposals that turned fatal, to honeymoons that ended in tragedy, to stories of love that crossed the line into obsession — Season 3 has been our darkest, most gripping yet. As we close the book on this season, we’re grateful to our thousands of listeners who keep tuning in, sharing stories, and reminding us why we do this. Season 4 is already in the works — and trust us, the cases we have lined up will keep you hooked. Until then, stay safe, stay curious, and remember: happily ever after isn’t always guaranteed. - Bonus 8 | Top 5 Dumbest DEA Criminals (00:12:25)
🎙️ Episode Description: The Top 5 Dumbest Criminals Not every crime is clever. In fact, some are so ridiculously bad, they make you wonder how these people even tied their own shoes, let alone plotted a felony. In this episode of Deadly Ever After, Regina and Tasha count down the Top 5 Dumbest Criminals from the cases we’ve covered. From proposals that ended in police sirens to cover-ups so sloppy they were practically invitations to get caught, these are the “what were they thinking?!” moments that prove love and crime don’t always mix. It’s a cocktail of true crime, wedding disasters, and absolute foolishness—served with a garnish of dark humor. Because sometimes the only thing deadlier than love… is stupidity. 📚 💻 References 💻 📚 Jeff Wright https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/deadly-ever-after/id1765989174?i=1000721825045 https://open.spotify.com/episode/03nUrW0DtaM4cFlicfnShj?si=4PBxG5CKSt2c4YmKM1pfSA Karen Waltz https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/deadly-ever-after/id1765989174?i=1000718688887 https://open.spotify.com/episode/6ObRlSwvjjCgC9xMks36s6?si=hSsIlL8jQvmjh53bfyFAIg Cody Johnson https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/deadly-ever-after/id1765989174?i=1000683205451 https://open.spotify.com/episode/3gzf2BAKCcPbYlBh2su9CS?si=B4N8JzX6TSKo_dOOde_WFw Isabella Hellman https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/deadly-ever-after/id1765989174?i=1000722814119 https://open.spotify.com/episode/79sOqESJLjBIttu7508XGa?si=lQY0BB_KS2usr7s4j7sFJw Joe Melgoza https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/deadly-ever-after/id1765989174?i=1000677638121 https://open.spotify.com/episode/68cp3iOm6Yroq3PJ8xxDbL?si=O6qUjJtRSrGqEqQnIX5k3A 🎧 New episodes drop every Wednesday , with a bonus episode on the last Friday of every month. Estrella Carrera, a 26-year-old mother of two from Illinois, was found murdered in 2012 just days after her wedding. Her body was discovered in the bathtub of her apartment, still wearing the silver sequin dress from her wedding celebration. Her new husband, Arnoldo Jimenez, quickly became the prime suspect and was later charged with her murder. Authorities believe he killed her during an argument in his car and then left her body in the tub before fleeing. Jimenez was added to the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list and remains at large. Estrella’s tragic death shocked her community and became a haunting example of domestic violence hiding in plain sight. 🎧 New episodes drop every Wednesday , with a bonus episode on the last Friday of every month.
