Say It With Your Chest: Consent Ain’t Confusing (01:47:08)
Consent isn’t awkward. Confusion is. And silence? That’s not a yes.For our Season 3 finale, we’re getting real, grounded, and unapologetically clear about consent—what it is, what it isn’t, and why so many of us were never actually taught how it works. In this episode, we break down consent beyond buzzwords and posters on school walls. We talk about how it shows up in real relationships, messy situations, group chats, power dynamics, and moments where your body knows something your mouth hasn’t said yet.In this episode, we unpack:What consent actually is (and why “not saying no” is not the same as saying yes)The FRIES Model of Consent: Freely given. Reversible. Informed. Enthusiastic. Specific.Consent in relationships — do you really have to ask every time, or is there nuance?Body language, silence, and assumptions — when they fail, and why verbal clarity mattersHow power differences (age, popularity, authority, money, experience) can quietly erase someone’s ability to say noLegal vs. ethical consent, including grooming and why “they agreed” doesn’t always mean it was rightHow social media, texting, and DMs blur boundaries and escalate pressureRecognizing the difference between being “okay” and being actually comfortableThe harm of victim-blaming and how it keeps people silent (with grounding insights from Southern Connecticut State University on why these narratives matter)How to respond to sexual harassment, step by step:Say no or name the behavior as unwelcome (if it’s safe)Document everything (dates, times, screenshots)Tell someone you trust—teacher, manager, HR, counselor, or another safe adultAnd a reflective moment: a time we found ourselves uncomfortable—and how we navigated itThis episode isn’t about fear. It’s about agency, clarity, and care—for yourself and for others.Because consent isn’t a mood. It’s a practice.🍑 Featured Cocktail: Crown Peach on the RocksYou’ll need:Crown Royal PeachIceHow to make it:Fill a rocks glass with ice.Pour Crown Peach over the ice—measure with your spirit, not your shame.Sip slowly. Let the conversation breathe.Simple. Honest. No confusion—just like consent should be.Season 3 closes here, but the work doesn’t. These conversations ripple—into how we date, how we text, how we protect each other, and how we heal.Pull up a glass. Pull up a chair. Let’s finish strong.
Pretty, Petty, and Particular: The Politics of Preference (01:40:15)
Featured Cocktail: Pineapple Upside Down Henny#shoutout to @milkandhoney_dmv for blessing the culture. This week, we’re stirring up one of the spiciest topics in queer dating: preferences. Not the cute ones like “I like someone who can cook.”We mean the heavyweight ones that shape how people see you, swipe on you, and decide whether you’re “their type”… or not.Across the digital streets where “no fats / no fems” still hides behind “just my preference,” we’re breaking down how desire gets tangled up with body image, gender expression, and the social scripts we’ve all inherited. Some folks call it taste. Plenty of it is politics. We’re sipping and unpacking:• How body type labels shape desirability in queer communities• The difference between preference, type, and plain old bias• Why attraction isn’t as apolitical as people claim• How desire gets molded by culture long before we think we’re choosing• What it looks like to interrogate your preferences without shaming yourself• And why some folks are granted visibility while others get erasedUsing insights from Everyday Feminism’s deep dive on desire and oppression, we’re asking the real question:Are your preferences truly yours… or were they handed to you?The Cocktail: Pineapple Upside Down HennyTastes like a vacation. Hits like a truth bomb.Ingredients:• Hennessy VS• Pineapple juice• Lemonade• Honey• Cinnamon sugar (for a rim that does not come to play)How to make it:Warm your honey and dress the rim like you’re styling it for a soft-launch photo. Shake your Henny, pineapple juice, and lemonade with enough confidence to scare your ex. Pour it over ice. Drizzle a little honey on top if you need to feel expensive. This episode is for the folks who want to love with intention, examine their desires, and sip something sweet while dragging their own biases into the sunlight. The truth tastes better with Henny anyway.
